How to BE the Part of You that Closes the Deal.

We are not ignoring the importance of strategy in closing deals in business.

However, we ARE focusing on strengthening the mindset that closes business deals.  You already know that strategy leads you to the accomplishment of your vision.  Strategy supports reaching your goals.  The vital perspective is that your positive and empowering mindset is necessary to guide strategy!

I have a great story about Ted. When I met him, he had invented a new product and started promoting it. He was filled with gumption to succeed in his new business. The passion and excitement at this stage was high.  He came to a session thinking he needed help crafting the right emails to follow up on prospects he is meeting at trade shows.

Sure, that could take us 10 minutes tops, but I ask him if he is closing the deals right then and there. Is he closing deals when he is talking to people interested in his product? Ted???  Why not?

I ask Ted if he's got order forms with him at all times. No? Ted has no idea he was "hiding" from actually selling his product (he didn't feel quite ready. . . ) by not making it a priority. We remember together that results happen when he closes deals. Yet, here he is focusing on anything BUT closing deals.

The "deal closer" he needs to be is not going to magically emerge in his personality.  It's time for Ted to notice that he keeps showing up without his power.  The real coaching now begins.  Ted needs to cultivate the part of himself confident and focused to close the deals. He has gotten stuck in his comfort zone of details without taking charge of making sales results happen.  (like NOW, Ted!)

I ask Ted to imagine the qualities he needs:  he says confidence, power and warrior-mentality.  So we name this part of himself, and he picks the name LEO.  Leo is the guy that brings power and awareness to closing the deal.  Leo is going to make Ted's business a legend.

This emerged part of Ted shares the same purpose  and vision, he just expresses the qualities most needed to bring home the trophy of business prosperity.

Go Leo!  With this seemingly easy shift in focus in place, there's a new unstoppable quality in Ted after this session.  Now we can challenge "LEO" to a few tasks, and while I hold them "both" accountable, the next session will be an acknowledgement of progress.

Ted ends up making it happen. He's got a new friend in Leo and talks to him all the time. (Yes, this is the good kind of crazy!) He's even surprised at how talented Leo is when it comes to his relationship. Things are looking better than ever with his new deal-closing mindset.
