How Your Life Grows Like a Garden

How Your Life/Business Grows Like a Garden

I gave a presentation recently to a group of 60 people.  I talked about the "Garden Analogy" I wrote about in my book, illustrating how your life or business grows just like a garden.

The short summary is this:

You've got to start with a vision, be able to SEE what it is you want badly enough. Then you've got to get into the dirt! Maybe there's a huge boulder you'll need to move out of the way. The dirt needs to be prepped. The foundation needs to be ready. A good foundation is key.

Planting seeds is next. Where do the right seeds come from? Where and When will you plant? Your seeds must be in alignment with what you say you want, and what you are willing to do. Alignment is a powerful growth agent.

Speaking of Growth, the next phase is Tending the growth - an ongoing practice. In order to thrive, we must feed and water what matters most. Staying in alignment with our priorities and focusing on what needs our attention most.

Next critical point: Handling the Weeds. Do "weeds" represent something negative, or do they represent an opportunity? Does the idea of "weeds" shift your perspective? Your interaction with "weeds" is perhaps the most influential aspect of achieving the garden of your dreams.

And finally, my favorite part because it's tremendously powerful and often overlooked: Integrating Abundance. Being present with yourself when milestones are achieved. Deserving, worth, and eliminating the unseen sabotages around success.  Thing is, you've got to make it all happen to get to this stage - evidence of WHY it's the most powerful component to get where you want to be.

Notice what area of this gardening map stands out in your mind. Where are you thriving? Where do you need to stop and pay attention? There's goodness in seeing this as an ongoing cycle. Make the best of it!
